Take A Stand Against Sexual Violence

The 2026 Take Back the Night Ann Arbor will be on April 2nd in the U of M Union Ballroom

Doors open starts at 6:30 PM  Visit with organizations like SafeHouse, SAPAC and more! Rally will start at 7 pm

March is immediately following through the streets of campus and Ann Arbor.

Free and open to the public  

(Content warning – material could be triggering or not appropriate for young children.  Advocates will be in attendance for those who need them. )

We are proud to announce Jena-Lisa Jones will be our keynote speaker!

As a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein, Jena-Lisa has found strength in coming forward in telling her story.  She stood on the Capital steps with her fellow survivors and demanded that their words be heard.  Jena-Lisa Jones is a dedicated life coach at Survivors Inc., where she empowers individuals to reclaim their strength, rebuild confidence, and create meaningful lives after trauma. A passionate advocate for sexual assault survivors, Jena-Lisa brings compassion, understanding, and authenticity to every person she supports.

We welcome Detroit’s own Audra Kubat as our singer this year.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Audra Kubat has released 7 albums to critical acclaim in a career that spans over 30 years. A composer, performer, producer, and educator, Kubat’s work has earned her a place in the community as a resource for empowerment through songwriting and music. Her methods of composition articulate grace and uncover hidden places that defy easy categorization. An offering of stark and beautiful reality that possesses experience yet embraces the whimsical. Her activism in the arts has helped her develop strong relationships with community organizations across the region. Currently, she is the ECE Specialist for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. She produces workshops for the Detroit Institute of Arts, where she will use songwriting as a conduit between visual art and the public. Kubat also works in Detroit Public Schools where she uses music to build new connections to learning.

Ber-Henda Williams is a bilingual poet, media producer, cultural strategist, and Soft Power Formation Guide whose work supports empathic leaders in cultivating capacity, coherence, and ethical influence. Grounded in womanist mysticism, trauma-informed practice, and relational theology, she bridges spirituality, leadership formation, and social impact.

She is the host of The Ber-Henda Williams Show and Soul of a Lead(Her) podcast (Season 3), served as Mistress of Ceremonies for the 2025 Small Business Saturday Bamboo Community Connection and MC for the 2025 Movement Is Life Annual Summit, and has facilitated leadership and wellness experiences with organizations including Teen Hype and Mothering Justice. Her work has been featured in Thrive Global, Fast Company, and Madam Noir.

Burlesque performer Sophia VonStardust will again grace the ballroom

Sophia Von Stardust is an internationally published, award winning MI-based burlesque performer, drag king (Swayze Stardust), model, visual artist and dancer.
